Tutorial is available on YouTube - link below (I recommend you to crochet with me)

Materials:

- Yarns (you may use the yarn you like that is suitable for crochet hook 2 mm, if you want to obtain the size approx. 6 cm).
One skein of each color is enough

  • YarnArt Jeans blue (in the tutorial red) - for the hat
  • Alize Softy white - for hat edging
- crochet hook 2 mm
- black thread for embroidering the sleeping eyes
- pink for embroidering the cheeks (you may blush the cheek)
- tapestry needle for sewing and embroidering
- stuffing;
- scissors.

Abbreviations:

MR - magic ring
sc - single crochet
dc - double crochet
ch - chain
sl st - slip stitch
inc - increase, 2 sc in one stitch

MOON

Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR [6]
Rnd 2: 6 inc [12]
Rnd 3: 12 inc [24]
Rnd 4: (1 sc, inc) x 12 [36]
Rnd 5: (1 sc, inc, 1 sc) x 12 [48]
Rnd 6: (3 sc, inc) x 12 [60]
Rnd 7: (2 sc, inc, 2 sc) x 12 [72]
Rnd 8: (5 sc, inc) x 12 [84]
Rnd 9: 84 sc [84]

Cut the yarn, leaving a tail for sewing (you may cut more yarn and use it for making the nose).
Fold in half and sew (the way of sewing is shown in the tutorial).

Below you see the seam in contrasting red color:

Add the stuffing as you go through next stitches, before you close the moon opening.

HAT with jingle bell

Rnd 1: 3 sc in MR [3]
Rnd 2: 3 inc [6]
Rnd 3: 6 sc [6]
Rnd 4: inc, 5 sc [7]
Rnd 5: inc, 6 sc [8]
Rnd 6: inc, 7 sc [9]
Rnd 7: inc, 8 sc [10]
Rnd 8: inc, 9 sc [11]
Rnd 9: inc, 10 sc [12]
Rnd 10: inc, 11 sc [13]

Cut the yarn, work invisible finish.

Change to Alize Softy white for crocheting the edging.
Rnd 11: 13 sc [13]

Sew the jingle bell to the hat and the hat to the head (front seam is between rnds 5-6).
You may embroider a few stars on the hat with gold/silver thread.

NOSE

Insert the hook between rnds 2-3 and make bobble stitch (bs):
ch4, 4 dc not finished. Pull the yarn through 5 loops on the hook, ch1 to secure the bobble.

Then insert the yarn tail in MR and secure (I show you how to make it in my tutorial). Shape the nose if it's needed.

Embroider eyes (in rnds 4-5) and cheeks (in rnd 5).

The Sleepy Moon is finished!
Do you prefer red or blue? :)
