Lightning McQueen (CARS inspired) FREE PATTERN part 2

THE EYE (x2)

Crochet hook 2 mm, YarnArt Jeans

Rnd 1: black, 8 sc in MR [8]

Rnd 2: 8 inc [16]

Change to blue.

Rnd 3: blue, (1 sc, inc) x 8 [24]



EYELID

red HDB

Row 1: ch 19, insert the hook in 2nd ch and work 18 sc [18]

Row 2: inc, 16 sc, inc [20]

Row 3: 10 sc [10]

Row 4: dec, 8 sc [9]

 Pin the eyelid before sewing. Then pin the eyes and adjust the place of the eyelid.

Finally sew the eyes and the eyelid.


 

WINDOW DIVIDER

Row 1: FLO (insert the hook in the stitches of the side), 3 sc, 1 tch, turn [3]

Row 2-6: 3 sc, 1 tch, turn [3]


 

THE BACK WINDOW

Crochet 3 stripes onto the window with slip stitches. PICTURE BELOW


Big lightning at the side (x 2)

Yarn Madame Tricot. I have to adjust the colors to start from yellow through orange to the red.

Crochet hook 2 mm. Work in rows, 1 tch in the end of every row. When there is no turning chain it is indicated in the pattern.

Part "b" is the main part. Part "a" means the triangle that you have to add, fasten off and then start the "b" part to continue (picture below).

Numbers on the roof are crocheted with crochet hook 2.5 mm to make them a bit bigger.

Head light (x2)

Work in rows, 1 tch in the end of the row.

Crochet hook 2 mm.

orange:

R 1: ch 6, 5 sc from the 2nd ch from the hook [5]

R 2-3: 5 sc [5]

white:

R 4-12: 5 sc [5] 




Tail light (x2)

Work in rows, 1 tch in the end of the row.

Crochet hook 2 mm.

orange:

R 1:  ch 7, 6 sc from the 2nd ch from the hook [6]

R 2-3: 6 sc [6]

red:

R 4-7: 6 sc [6]

R 8: dec, 4 sc [5]

R 9-10: 5 sc [5]

white:

CIRCLE on the hood:

R 4: 4 sc (from 2nd ch from the hook)

R 6: 2 sc [2]

R 7: 1 sc, inc [3]

R 8: 3 sc [3]

R 9: 2, inc [4]






Embroider the black dots onto the wheels (the red part of the car).

MOUTH

Firstly sketch the mouth with contrasting yarn (you will remove it later). I don't give you the definite number of stitches for the mouth, because I did it intuitively

Rnd 1. Insert the hook under the stitches of the hood and work 1 round of slip stitches (sketch the smile).

Rnd 2: sc around

Rnd 3: crochet sc along the top lip (no sc on the bottom lip).

Finally sew two lips together. 

If you have an other idea for the mouth, it is up to youuo may simply embroider the smile as I did in my FROG :)




The car is finished!
