Bookmark - Blue Bear PATTERN EN

Hi, do you remember Blue Bear bookmark I made some time ago? In the post I wrote the pattern. I also made slideshow presentation with the pattern on YouTube. So let's crochet together! :-)

Slideshow with the pattern is on YouTube:

This is slideshow for bookmark Blue Bear pattern. I made it if you would like e.g. take a photo of definite slides (that's why sometimes you need to stop to read info on the slides; slides display quite regular in time, regarding the music).

Materials:

1 skein of each color is enough for the project:
- yarn Alize Baby Wool and Bamboo - for arms and legs
This is beautiful blue-beige yarn:

- YarnArt Jeans beige – for paws
- Yarn Art brown – for embroidering nose and muzzle
- YarnArt Jeans red – for heart
- crochet hook 2.5 mm
- tapestry needle and sharp needle
- safety eyes (or you can embroider eyes with black thread/floss)
- stuffing

ABBREVIATIONS (USA terminology)

• MR = magic ring
• st = stitch
• sl st = slip stitch
• ch = chain
• tch = turning chain (at the end of a row)
• sc = single crochet
• inc = increase (2 sc in one st)
• dec = decrease (sc2tog)
• (..) = repeat the pattern particular number of times
• [..] = complete number of st in the round / row
• rnd = round

As for the bookmark strip - pattern for this beautiful lace is available on YouTube - designer Natali Korneeva Ribbon Lace Crochet – it is in Russian. Although I don't know Russian, I understood the tutorial, so you will understand it too! The designer explain following steps – click the link to watch the tutorial. Adjust the length of the strip to your needs.

You can also crochet single crochets in rows (with 1 turning chain in the end of every row) to make the simple strip without the lace.

HEAD

Start with beige YarnArt Jeans.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR [6]
Rnd 2: 6 inc [12]
Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 [18]
Rnds 4-5: 18 sc [18]
Change to beige-blue Alize (I had beige color in Alize, so I change to Alize, but you can also crochet with YarnArt Jeans beige up to 8 round and then change to another color).
Rnd 6: blue Alize, 6 inc, 12 sc [24]
Rnd 7: (1 sc, inc) x 6, 12 sc [30]
Rnd 8: (2 sc, inc) x 6, 12 sc [36]
Rnds 9-16: 36 sc [36]
Insert safety eyes between rnds 6-7 (adjust the placement to your needs).
Rnd 17: (4 sc, dec) x 6 [30]
Rnd 18: (3 sc, dec) x 6 [24]
Rnd 19: (2 sc, dec) x 6 [18]
Stuff the head before you close the opening.
Rnd 20: (1 sc, dec) x 6 [12]
Rnd 21: 6 dec [6]
Fasten off, close the opening, weave in loose ends.
