SMURFS LADIES - Smurfette - pattern

Hello!

I started to write the pattern for Smurfette last year and I've already done it ;-) Better later than never :-D
I present you how to crochet Smurfette, Smurf Blossom and Sassette. Smurf measures about 25 cm.

This pattern doesn't include photos and stitch guide – you can watch FREE TUTORIAL ON YOUTUBE about particular steps of work. Links below:

Materials:

• crochet hook – 2.5 mm
• yarn – e.g. YarnArt Jeans:
- blue for the body;
- Smurfette: white for dress, shoes and hat;
- Blossom: beige for dress, shoes and hat; pink and yellow for flower;
- Sassette: pink for trousers; white for hat, orange for hair.
• black thread,
• safety eyes (I used 6 mm) and a piece of white felt
(or you can crochet eyes using white yarn),
• stuff,
• tapestry needle,
• scissors,
• pins.
Legs, body and head are made in one piece bottom-up, without sewing.

LEGS, BODY & HEAD

Shoe pattern is similar to Papa Smurf's leg to round 7. In rnd 8 I change color to blue and crochet in BLO.

Start with ch 8, white yarn.
Rnd 1: sc in 2nd chain from the hook and work around foundation chain, sc in next 4 st, 1 hdc in next st, 5 dc in last st, continue working down the opposite side of the foundation chain: 1 hdc in next st, sc in next 5 st, sl st (17 + sl st)
Rnd 2: 6 sc, 5 inc, 6 sc, sl st [22 + sl st]
Rnd 3: 21 sc, dec (reduce sc and sl st to one sc) in BLO [22]
Rnd 4: 6 sc, (1 sc, inc) x 5, 6 sc [27]. Don’t finish with sl st, continue crocheting in a round
Rnd 5: 6 sc, (2 sc, inc) x 5, 6 sc [32]
Rnd 6: 32 sc [32]
Rnd 7: dec, 4 sl st, (2 sc, dec) x 5, 4 sl st, dec [25]
Rnd 8: blue, crochet in BLO: 5 sl st, (1 sc, dec) x 5, 5 sl st [20]
Link two ends of yarn (white & blue) to secure the work.

Rnd 9: 5 sl st, dec x 5, 5 sl st [15]
Rnd 10: 3 sl st, (1 sc, dec) x 3, 3 sl st [12]
Stuff the shoe. I don't use plastic insole because I will make the heel.

Rnd 11: dec, 8 sc, dec [10]
Rnd 12-18: 10 sc [10]

Finish the first leg and cut the yarn. Now crochet the same manner 2nd leg and don’t cut the yarn, because we will join both legs.

In rnd 19 I change color to white (it will be underwear) but if you like, you can continue crochet with blue yarn. If you change color, remember to secure two ends of yarn blue and white.

Rnd 19: 1 sc (2nd leg), 6 ch (bridge), 10 sc (1st leg), 6 sc (bridge), 9 sc (2nd leg up to the marker) [32]
Rnd 20-21: 32 sc [32]
Rnd 22: 2 sc, (1 sc, inc) x 2, 12 sc, (1 sc, inc) x 2, 10 sc [36]
Rnd 23-25: 36 sc [36]

Now I reset the numeration because I want to emphasize the waist of the body.
Rnd 1: 36 sc in BLO [36, don’t count sl st].
Rnd 2-3: 36 sc (under both loops) [36]
Rnd 4: (7 sc, dec) x 4 [32]
Rnd 5: 32 sc [32]
Rnd 6: (6 sc, dec) x 4 [28]
Rnd 7: 28 sc [28]
Rnd 8: (5 sc, dec) x 4 [24]
Rnd 9: 24 sc [24]
Rnd 10: blue, BLO (4 sc, dec) x 4 [20]

Stabilize the neck - I used crochet tuba stuffed with fiberfill
(tuba counts about 40 rnds - R1: [6], R2: [12], R3-38: [12] etc. - it is presented in the tutorial part 1, time 18:48)

Rnd 11: 20 sc [20]
Rnd 12: (3 sc, dec) x 4 [16]
Rnd 13: (2 sc, dec) x 4 [12]
Rnd 14: 12 sc [12] – it is a Smurfette’s neck.
I crochet scs in FLO, because in BLO I will sew my crochet tuba to the neck. If you use other stabilizer, you can crochet under both loops.

Now I crochet the head - pattern is similar to Papa Smurf's head.

HEAD

Rnd 1: (1 sc, inc) x 6 [18]
You can mark the 1st round of head – it’s easier to count the rounds.
Rnd 2: (2 sc, inc) x 6 [24]
Rnd 3: (3 sc, inc) x 6 [30]
Rnd 4: (4 sc, inc) x 6 [36]
Rnd 5: (5 sc, inc) x 6 [42]
Rnd 6: (6 sc, inc) x 6 [48]
Rnd 7-12: 48 sc [48]
Rnd 13: (6 sc, dec) x 6 [42]
Rnd 14: (5 sc, dec) x 6 [36]
Rnd 15: (4 sc, dec) x 6 [30]
Rnd 16: (3 sc, dec) x 6 [24]
Rnd 17: (2 sc, dec) x 6 [18]
If you want, you can put safety eyes with a piece of white felt (or crochet the eyes later). I put it between rnd 10-11 of head and burnt the ends of eyes (inside the head) to secure them.
Rnd 18: (1 sc, dec) x 6 [12]
Rnd 19: 6 dec [6]
Stuff the head and fasten off.

At the end I shape the HEEL - see the tutorial PART 1 (time 29:21).

Following elements are similar to Papa Smurf - difference involves the ears.

HAT

Start with ch 44, join with sl st in a round.
Rnd 1-8: 44 sc [44]
Rnd 9: (4 sc, dec) x 4, 20 sc [40]
Rnd 10: 40 sc [40]
Rnd 11: (3 sc, dec) x 4, 20 sc [36]
Rnd 12: 36 sc [36]
Rnd 13: (3 sc, dec) x 4, 16 sc [32]
Rnd 14: 32 sc [32]
Rnd 15: (2 sc, dec) x 4, 16 sc [28]
Rnd 16: 28 sc [28]
Rnd 17: (2 sc, dec) x 4, 12 sc [24]
Rnd 18: 24 sc [24]
Rnd 19: (10 sc, dec) x 2 [22]
Rnd 20: 22 sc [22]
Rnd 21: (9 sc, dec) x 2 [20]
Rnd 22: 20 sc [20]
Rnd 23: (8 sc, dec) x 2 [18]
Rnd 24: 18 sc [18]
Rnd 25: (1 sc, dec) x 6 [12]
Rnd 26: 6 dec [6]
Fasten off, leave a tail for shaping the hat on Smurf’s head.
You can stuff hat lightly. First sew the ears and then sew the hat, because hat touches the ears. If you crochet Papa Smurf, remember to attach the beard first and then sew the hat, because Papa’s hair is beneath the hat.

ARMS & FINGERS

Start with ch 7, sl st.
Rnd 1-13: 7 sc [7] – crochet in a round without sl st.
Rnd 14: 3 inc, 4 sc [10]
Rnd 15: 10 sc [10]

Crochet FIRST FINGER (we should crochet eight fingers = 4 fingers for both hands).

Rnd 1: 2 sc, insert the hook on the opposite side of Smurf's hand and crochet sl st, sc in next 1 st [4]
Rnd 2: 4 sc [4]
Rnd 3: sl st through the centre stitch of round 2 (it could be the 2nd one)
Fasten off, leave a tail.

Crochet the 2nd finger – start from the 2nd stitch of the 1st finger

Rnd 1: ch 1 and 1 sc in the same stitch, sc in next st, sl st on the opposite side of hand (count one st from the 3rd st of first finger), sc in next st.
Rnd 2-3: similar to the first finger

Link two ends of yarn and hide them inside the arm. Stuff arms lightly.
Crochet other arm with fingers and sew them to the body (count two rounds below the neck).

NOSE

Rnd 1: 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
Rnd 2: 6 inc [12]
Rnd 3: 2 inc, 10 sc [14]
Rnd 4: 14 sc [14]
Rnd 5: 2 dec, 10 sc [12]
Stuff a nose lightly.

Rnd 6: 6 dec [6]
Rnd 7: 6 sc, sl st [6]
Sew the nose between rnd 9-10 of head. The nose is snub, so sew it properly.

EARS

Rnd 1: 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
Rnd 2: 6 inc [12]
Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 [18]
Rnd 4: 18 sc [18]
Leave a tail for sewing.

Crochet 2nd ear.
Sew the ears between rnd 6-7 of head and shape the ears while sewing. You can additionally sew every ear through magic ring to stabilize it (it is the far point I sew the ear).

TAIL

Rnd 1: 6 sc in a magic ring [6]
Rnd 2: (1 sc, inc) x 3 [9]
Rnd 3-4: 9 sc [9]
Stuff a tail lightly.

Rnd 5: (1 sc, dec) x 3, sl st [6]

How to attach hair

SMURFETTE'S DRESS

Tutorial part 3 is on YouTube:

White yarn.

Start with ch 33, working in the rows.
Don’t count turning chain.
Row 1: insert the hook in 4th st from the hook and crochet dc in next 30 st.

Work ch 5 (loop for the button), turn
Row 2: 3 sc, ch 4 (skip 8 st, leave a hole for sleeve), 8 sc, ch 4 (skip 8 st, leave a hole for sleeve), 3 sc, 1 turning chain, turn [22].
Row 3: 3 sc, 4 inc, 8 sc, 4 inc, 3 sc, 1 turning chain, turn [30]
Row 4: (4 sc, inc) x 6, 1 turning chain, turn [36]
Row 5: 36 sc across the row [36]
Row 6: (5 sc, inc) x 6 [42]
Join in a circle with sl st.

Rnd 7: 2 inc, 40 sc [44].
Join with sl st and repeat the pattern (pattern involves 4 st and is repeated 11 times).

Rnd 8: ch 3 (= 1 dc), 1 dc in the same st, skip 1 st, (2 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc) in next st, skip last st.
ch 3 is always at the beginning of the round. In second repetition and more there will be 1 dc instead of ch 3.

Repeat the scheme: 2 dc in the same st, skip 1 st, (2 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc) in next st, skip last st.
Repeat across the round.

Rnd 9: ch 3 (= 1 dc), 1 dc in the same st, insert the hook under 1 ch between 2 dc of previous rnd and crochet (2 dc, 1 ch, 2 dc) in next st, skip last st.
Repeat untill you work 11th round.

Finish with sl st or better - invisible join.

Sew the button and try the dress on :-)

SMURF BLOSSOM'S DRESS

Tutorial part 4 is on YouTube:

Start with ch 27.
Row 1: insert the hook in 4th ch from hook and crochet dc in next 24 st, 1 tch, turn [24]
Row 2: (3 dc, inc) x 6 [30]
Row 3: 3 sc, ch 4 (skip 8 st, leave a hole for sleeve), 8 sc, ch 4 (skip 8 st, leave a hole for sleeve), 3 sc, 1 tch, turn [22]
Row 4: 3 sc, 4 inc, 8 sc, 4 inc, 3 sc, 1 tch, turn [30]
Row 5: (4 sc, inc) x 6, 1 tch, turn [36]
Join in a circle with sl st.

Rnd 6: 36 sc across the round [36]
Crochet in continuous round.
Rnd 7: (5 sc, inc) x 6 [42]
Rnd 8-12: 42 sc [42]
Rnd 13: (6 sc, inc) x 6, sl st [48]
Rnd 14-15: ch 3 (=1 dc), dc in next 47 st, sl st [48]
In rnd 16 I make the flounce - pattern involves 6 st and is repeated 8 times:
Rnd 16: 1 sc, 1 dc, 3 dc in one st, 1 dc, 1 sc, sl st.
Repeat 8 times.

Finish the round making invisible join.
Try the dress on.
You can add stone jewellery.

BLOSSOM'S FLOWER

Tutorial part 5 is on YouTube:

Rnd 1: 5 sc in a MR [5]
Rnd 2: 5 inc [10]
Rnd 3: 10 inc [20]
Rnd 4: 20 sc in BLO, sl st [20]

It's time to crochet 5 petals - pattern consists of 4 st and is repeated 5 times:
Start with ch 1.
Rnd 5: 1 dc, 3 tr in one st, 1 dc, 1 sc
Finish with sl st.
Shape the flower - gather 5 petals to make them well-formed (stay stitching).

I crochet 3 stamens inside the flower:
insert the hook under the st, yarn over and pull up through the loop, crochet 5 ch.
Make a bobble in 2nd ch from hook
(yarn over, insert the hook, pull up a loop) x 2, pull through all loops on the hook, 1 ch, sl st.
Fasten off, leaving a tail in order to harden the stamen (wrap yarn around it).
Weave yarn ends.

Now crochet inside of flower - yellow yarn.
I make the loops going alone the spiral, using tapestry needle.
Sew the flower to Blossom's hat.
