Pucio with plane FREE PATTERN

Hello, because you asked me for written pattern for Pucio and my notebook with the pattern is almost run-down, I managed to write down the pattern. So I share it with you. Don't forget to SUBSCRIBE my blog if you prefer to receive mails with my newest posts and pattern. My free tutorial about Pucio is still on YouTube if you like to watch videos ;-)

• YarnArt Jeans:
- beige no 05
- light grey no 49
- dark grey no 46
- turquoise no 76 (circle with letter P)
- black (legs)
- white (eyes, plane)

• YarnArt Samba brown no 2034 for hair
black floss for embroidering eyebrows and smile (or iris - if you don't use safety eyes)
• thin black thread for embroidering freckles and eyelashes.
pink blush or pastels for cheeks

Crochet hook 2.5 mm

Pucio is about 18 cm tall (using materials stated in the pattern).

Abbreviation in US terminology:

• MR = magic ring
• st = stitch
• sl st = slip stitch
• ch = chain
• tch = turning chain (at the end of a row)
• sc = single crochet
• hdc = half double crochet
• dc = double crochet
• inc = increase (2 sc in one st)
• dec = decrease (sc2tog)
• (..) = repeat the pattern definite number of times
• [..] = complete number of st in the round / row
• rnd = round
• BLO = back loop only
• FLO = front loop only
• FPSC = front post single crochet

Start from legs and body.

LEG I

Black
Rnd 1: ch 3, inc, 5 sc in one st, inc, sl st [9]
Rnd 2: ch 1, BLO 9 sc, sl st [9]
Rnd 3: ch 1, work in a round: 2 sc, dec, 1 sc, dec, 2 sc [7]

Rnd 10: 10 sc [10]
Rnd 11: (4 sc, inc) x 2 [12]
Rnd 12: 12 sc [12]

Cut the yarn and crochet leg II but after crocheting 2nd leg don’t cut the yarn in the end because we will join both legs.

JOINING LEGS

Rnd 13: 1 sc (II), ch 2 (bridge), 12 sc (I), 2 sc (bridge), 11 sc (I) [28]
Rnd 14: 1 sc, 2 inc, 25 sc [30]

Rnd 16: 36 sc [36]

[Later in FLO I will crochet the ribbing with white: FLO 36 sc]
Rnd 19: (5 sc, inc) x 6 [42]
Rnd 20-22: 42 sc [42]
Rnd 23: (5 sc, dec) x 6 [36]
Rnd 24: 36 sc [36]
Rnd 25: (4 sc, dec) x 6 [30]
Rnd 26: 30 sc [30]
Rnd 27: (3 sc, dec) x 6 [24]
Rnd 28: 24 sc [24]
Rnd 29: (2 sc, dec) x 6 [18]
Rnd 30: 18 sc [18]
Change yarn into beige
Rnd 31: BLO 18 sc [18]
Rnd 32: (1 sc, dec) x 6 [12]
Rnd 33: 12 sc [12]
To avoid floppy head I put crochet tube inside the neck. You can put the wire or plastic tube, but for children I recommend you the crochet tube.

CROCHET TUBE INSIDE THE NECK

Beige
Rnd 1: 5 sc in MR [5]
Rnd 2: 5 inc [10]
Rnd 3-30: 10 sc [10]

HEAD

Beige
If you crocheted my Cuties, there is similar way of crocheting, changing place of scs to achieve almost perfect round (not hexagonal shape). In even-numbered rounds, I divided scs to obtain almost perfect round (not hexagonal shape): e.g. Rnd 4: (1 sc, inc, 1 sc) x 6 [24]. You can of course crochet traditional way: Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) x 6 [24].:

Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR [6]
Rnd 2: 6 inc [12]
Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 [18]
Rnd 4: (1 sc, inc, 1 sc) x 6 [24]
Rnd 5: (3 sc, inc) x 6 [30]
Rnd 6: (2 sc, inc, 2 sc) x 6 [36]
Rnd 7: (5 sc, inc) x 6 [42]
Rnd 8: (3 sc, inc, 3 sc) x 6 [48]
Rnd 9: (7 sc, inc) x 6 [54]
Rnd 10-18: 54 sc [54]
Rnd 19: (7 sc, dec) x 6 [48]
Rnd 20: (3 sc, dec, 3 sc) x 6 [42]
Rnd 21: (5 sc, dec) x 6 [36]
Rnd 22: (2 sc, dec, 2 sc) x 6 [30]
Rnd 23: (3 sc, dec) x 6 [24]
Rnd 24: (1 sc, dec, 1 sc) x 6 [18]
Rnd 25: 18 sc [18]
Rnd 26: (1 sc, dec) x 6 [12]

EYE (make 2)

White
Rnd 1: 8 sc in MR [8]
Rnd 2: 8 inc [16]
Sew between rnds 14-17 of head, space between eyes = 3-4 scs
You can add safety eyes (before you close the head opening) or embroider the iris with black floss.

NOSE

Pink

Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR [6]
Rnd 2: 6 sc [6]
Rnd 3: dec, 4 sc [5]

Rnd 3: 3 sc, dec [4]

ARM (make 2)

Beige
Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR [6]
Rnd 2-3: 6 sc [6]
Now I will change colors between dark grey and light grey. I finish each round with invisible finish and cut the yarn.
Rnd 4: dark grey, 6 sc [6]
Rnd 5: light grey, 6 sc [6]
Repeat rounds 4-5 three times (6-7, 8-9, 10-11) and fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.

CIRCLE with letter “P”

Turquoise
Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR [6]
